Single best handling modification CT9A.

Hey guys,

I was just wondering what single modification has the best effects on handling for the Evo VIII/IX CT9A chassis? I currently have an MR, so I have the Bilstein struts, and I put some Swift Spec-R springs on it. I also have a set of Volks with Nitto Nt555 Tires on it. Everything else suspension-wise is stock.

What mod can I do that will have the biggest gain in handling for a weekend warrior street car?

Thanks!

Id say push the stock setup to its limit before you start buying stuff. Find the limit first so you can adjust accordingly.

This...

There is no one "wonder part" for the Evo. Depends on your personal driving feel as well as what you're using the car for. Doing Auto X helps bring out the flaws in your car's suspension.

If you want single best then for me its coilovers. But of course a lot of things should precede coilovers. Ultimately thats what gets the greatest handling gains.

Getting the nut behind the wheel dialed in would be the biggest improvement!

Then.....good alignment, rear sway bar & rear trailing arm bushings @ the same time. i have seen numerous torn trailing arm bushings.

Spend whatever mod money you have on a good high performance or race driving school. A good driver can turn faster lap times in a Yugo than an average person in a heavily modded Evo or any other car for that matter.

x2 for driver mod.

once the driver is fixed look into a rear diff to get the car to rotate so you can put the power down harder coming out of a turn.

Brake pads would be next on my list.

Not really anyone one suspension item that you could improve to make the whole system better...

However, one could do the rear diff mod if you want more oversteer...

The best handling mod for me IMO is the rear diff plate swap. I just got this done last week and it made me fall in love with my car again.
