Good explanation, the rain part I think its worth the $200 easily.

Thats refreshing to hear, ive always been a fan of toyos and falkens, but i hardly hear about them in the evo forums for choice of tire. I was asking because it might give trevor some other options.

Also, the Z1* last longer than the RS-3s both in my experience and according to their treadwear ratings (140 for RS-3, 200 for Z1*). You're getting ~40% higher treadwear (which doesn't directly correlate to tire life, but it's the best we have) for only ~20% higher price.

One of my AutoX friends praised the RS-3s for their lower price vs. my star specs, but he also has to buy new tires twice as often as I do. That probably has something to do with his driving style vs mine though

They say the R1R is Toyos best kept secret. I failed to link an awesome YouTube video of an Evo on the track with the R1R's.
