Extended wheel studs in rear

I've been looking at a few threads on installing extended studs. From what I've gathered looking at a thread I found: the user removed ebrake and then removed the 4 bolts off of the hub assembly and pulled the hub off a little.

Can't I just remove the axle nut and pull the hub off a little and then install the extended studs?

I think I'm going to need a after doing this

Update: definitely a PITA because there are so many parts to take off just to get to those studs. It took about 4 hours with some breaks in between. I took some pictures if anyone needs them.

Yup that's what I've read so far, too. I'm getting the studs by Wednesday so hopefully it doesn't take long to install and I can drive the car by Thursday to get it aligned.

I've tried installing extended studs in the rear, and its definitely a pain. I removed the e-brake assembly and everything. You have to pull the hub off some to get enough room.

i got some TougeFactory extended studs that where just short enough to get in without removing the rear hub. not sure what size they were though.

I used the same ones. They are 50mm.
