corner balancing - adjust preload or shock length?

I was curious if there is a rough rule-of-thumb for an Evo. I'm currently installing new springs, so I might add an extra turn or two of length to the front passenger and rear driver corners.

my corner weight is off 4-5%, it is noticeable since it has "wedge" in the car if you wanna use nascar terms. unfortunately my ohlins are so old they are not shock body adjustable, so not much i can do about it.
