Hi all, I have a Evo 9 rs and when I’m at full lock to the left when the car is off I can here a loud clunk. Also bad bump steer. I figured it was inner tie rod and after taking off the dust boot the inner tie rod is not the issue. Is my pinion smoked? Or the rack it self?

 

In for a response. I just bought a 9 RS a few weeks ago, and Ive been getting creaking noises when turning the steering wheel at a stop and very slow speeds.

 

I had this issue and it ended up being cracked front top spring mounts/hats. One side was cracked really bad and the other started to have slight cracking and this was on bone stock suspension at 40k miles.
