The trunk is made by a large carbon parts manufacture for VividRacing, and the price that we have it for includes shipping to the main 48 states.

Trending Topics
Vacuum bagging is where you take the CFRP prior to the resin setting and put it in a plastic bag. You then hook up a one way valve on the bag to a vacuum. This forces the resin to flow thoroughly within the carbon sheet to insure uniform bonding.
Autoclaving is taking the vacuum bag andplacing it in a huge oven where the oxygen is pumped out and replaced with one of many inert gases. It is then heated to 500+ degrees and put under several atmospheres of pressure. This forces the resin to bond on a molecular level with the carbon strands. This yields a stronger part which is lighter. This is the most expensive manufacturing technique, this is usually used by F1 teams, aerospace, etc... It's the best way to make carbon parts, it yields a flat non glossy carbon structure with amazing strength. I seriously doubt this trunk is autoclaved.
Pre-preg is where the carbon sheets are pre-impregnated with the exact amount of resin needed, these are delivered refrigerated and need to be stored frozen until ready to lay up.
Hand wetting is when you lay the carbon into the mold and then apply the resin by hand. This is not as precise and yields a heavier part, but it is much easier to work with when it comes to complex curves.
Hope this helps make sense of my tech speak.

MP5, QATR, and 909, I agree with you guys. I am still waiting for vivid to post some discounted prices. $400 for Evo VII tails??? I have seen them sold Brand New for much much cheaper about $300 shipped. SAFC2, HKS RS, etc...c'mon Vivid. What are you doing? Why is DRC Imports typed "WOW!"? Either to the abundance to your products (highly unlikely so) or the pricing of your products. I would've bought many parts from you but the reason I did not is because when I called you to see if you can either match or beat the price of the HKS RS kit (your's was going for over $400) for $315, you said no. I asked you what's the cheapest price. You told me your over $400 pricing is the cheapest price. Lemme think, the vendors selling at $315 is losing money right? And NOW you're STILL selling at $335. I really like you website and it's very informative. I read it when I have time and do quite enjoy it. That was why I would've purchased your item even if you cost a little more but not over $100 more. I think you should change the title to Long Item List instead of Discounted Item List. I have several vendors in my head that I can think of easily who has their "EXPENSIVE" price lower than your "DISCOUNTED" price. Sorry Vivid but I have to say what's true.
