Mellon Tuning X Blouch Dominator 382awhp 344tq

Owner: Stuart
Username: turbo06evo
Locaton: Ft. Mill, SC
Model: 2008 EVO10 5-speed USDM
stock injectors bored to 820cc
93 octane
26 psi
tbe stock dp test pipe
ams fmic licp buschur intake
Kelford 214-b cams
Blouch Dominator turbo

DLL results:
19psi - 352awhp/304tq
26psi - 382awhp/344tq

beyond 26psi the power was falling off. It turns out that the turbo was damaged previous to the tune so there might have been more in it with a good unit. He's looking into a FP Red and retune soon.

very similar based on the torque curve...here's another customer on the stock turbo doing a build.

Great results, as always.

In the mod list, "tbe stock dp test pipe" -- so stock downpipe?
Also, just want to confirm that he's running stock UICP with the AMS IC and LICP?

Looks like a nice driveable combo with more low end and slightly less top end compared to my GT30 setup.

Just throwing this out there, correct me if I'm wrong. looking at multiple RED and blouch dyno sheets, it looks like the blouch spools much closer to stock, maybe 500rpm's sooner than the red. The red has more ultimate power though.

If I were looking for the best DD turbo with no more than 400whp, would the Blouch be my best bet?

And how come nobody is testing the BB version of the blouch?

I'd go with the Red, it's going to come closer to getting you the 400awhp+ goal on pump gas and the "lag" isnt' that much worse.

The Dom 2 is smaller and spools faster than the FP Red but not sure it's 500 RPM's, maybe 200-300 rpm's based on the Dyno sheets I've seen. The thing is when people get tunes they also usually have the MIVEC maps changed so that will effect spool by another 200-300 rpm's just as well.

Yeah, thats what makes it tough to acertain. I'm self tuned with a hybrid of mivec settings that seem to have decrease spool time on the stock turbo. I don't have access to a dyno so it's all seat of the pants and 1/4 mile track --> ran 12.9@108 with just my tune...everything else stock.

In the future I am looking for ~400awhp. If I end up with 385 so be it...but I want as broad a powerband as possible. Is the concensus to skip the Blouch and get a Red then? Remember this is not a track car but a DD for at least 4 more years
