Fixed it for you: If you wanted to drag race, why woudl you buy an import? An 11sec X MR is a bit of a silly idea.

And for 'we want to drag race because we cant afford to road race' crowd. This is wrong. If you can afford to drag race, then you can afford to road race. You just suck at managing your money For $20 at your local strip's friday night test and tune, you spend an evening and might get six passes in on a good day, for a total of one and a half minutes of total seat time. At a track day, you'll pay $300 for two days and get about 200 minutes of track time, plus class room time, and an instructor riding with you. And you'll do less damage to your car. Sure you don't do it every weekend, but it nets you more seat time per $ than drag racing. Sorry for going even more but hearing the crying from the wannabe drag racer MR owning crowd makes me want to help show them the light

actually, i wasn't I was just trying to encourage people who've never tracked their car to try it. Being you say you frequent VIR, I wasn't talking to you at all... but it is a HUGE pleasure to meet you, mr center of the universe! I suggest you go see a psychiatrist, you're crazy is showing.

In the mean time, don't go around bashing people and companies who don't cater to your pipe dreams. Step up and pay for the R&D yourself, or just be thankful of the benefits you get from others along the way. You complain about people smack talking, but you're the only one smack talking. Seriously dude.... get some help

in response to your road racing vs drag vs cost. if you road race, you might get a weekend out of some sticky tires. if you drag, youll get a whole season, and plenty of Daily driving miles as well.

If you road race, you should change your oil and brake pads after a weekend. if you drag, your fine. road racing cost MUCH more then draging a car..... besides seat time...

tires, pads, oil... all in 1 weekend when you add in the gas and track fees your easily looking at spending 1000+ on a road racing weekend with a car like a Evo.

maybe if you drove a miata you might only spend 500.

still MUCH more then a night at the drag stip.

There is a lot more stuff that normally breaks while drag racing... if you are going fast enough that is

first off, are you post stalking me? 2nd, yes an no. you can just as easily blow a diff or transfercase due to constant high speeds, revs, temps.. ext. where as you can blow **** from launching it as well. axels can bea easily broken in either sport, motors can blow headgaskets.... ect.

In either sport, you can put the car in the wall or flip, you can brake anything. you can blow a stock evo x up on the dragstrip or the track, all you need is a 4th to 1st shift when you ment for 5th.

just saYIN.

If I were "post stalking" you it would have come quicker but don't think to highly of yourself, just the luck of the draw for the thread I picked to read.

Yes there are isolated cases, but more often then not, things break drag racing

To prove the capabilities of the SSP products. Whether it is a good idea to drag an MR or not it will prove the products. Whether a time attack car is "affordable" to the general evo public it still proves the products.

I don't get why people think any of this stuff is a bad idea. SSP is proving the MR transmission has lots of potential. By Dragging they prove a launch is possible (in the future clearly) and by Time attack they prove it holds power and torque reliably.
