But the original build said the first 11 second mr build and not once have i seen video on the dragstrip. Dont advertise 11 second build if that is not what the car is used for. Advertise 75000 dollar time attack evo x mr that nobody can afford. I like the technology and ssp, but dont just talk prove to us that this really is a 11 second car, not just for time attack. I have seen it on you tube and a stock turbo evo x mr launches harder!!!!
With all do respect we were trying to accomplish several different goals....NOT just a 11 second MR. My main goals were to show that the MR can make over 500 whp, set new whp record, and track the car to prove it was reliable, first MR into the 11's. Considering we hit 3/4 of the goals right I'm pretty happy. I have tried getting the car to launch but until the TCU is fully cracked there isn't much I can do about it. Having the throttle plate close 50% at launch makes for a horrible launch in a big turbo car. Hence why a stock MR launches "harder" then a big turbo MR.

I was told by ETS to replace the rod bolts when pushing over 30 psi.

This car is not practical for the average owner and it is getting away from what the original post of this car was supposed to be.
Clutches, tune, fluid, front mount, and seals are very affordable for the MR owner out there. And there are plenty of MR owners tracking there cars. The build has NOT become all about time attack.....there's NO point in trying to launch the car until we can get around the throttle body issue.

One project at a time like AMS does......ROFL....you have to be kidding me. They have several projects cars, there race cars, customers race cars, and normal customer builds all going at the same time. And there's no reason they can't....it's AMS....nuff said.

I wasn't planning to make it a time attack car from the start.....this is MY car.....NOT SSP's. If I want to road race the car, I'll road race. At the end of the day regardless of what type of racing I do it still shows that the parts hold up......and the transmission can take the increased power levels. That's all I'm trying to show. It's a free world....if you want to go with the Exedy clutch packs, feel free.

Why not?? Evo was is still the most successful Import drag car right now.. 25 Evos went 9s or faster last year.. No other import has accomplished that in the last few years.. the MR though not a great idea for drag.. LOL

I agree, and I didn't buy the MR with hopes of drag racing. I actually purchased the car for a DD since I just recently started building my 07 STI into a full time drag car. Then like usual I started modding the car like crazy and it just ended up the way it is today. The technology in the MR transmission is new to the Evo world and until the software engineers get off there collective behinds and crack the transmission you aren't going to be launching a big turbo MR right now.

Honestly...once the software is done on the MR and all the SST parts are upgraded, the MR will be far superior to the GSR for drag. Auto trannies are win in DRAG and the launching should just flat out rape.

Maybe I will buy an MR tranny at that point for my beast

Why do people drag gtrs???? Why do people drag anything, because its cheap and fun to do once in a while. All I was saying is that ssp posted that they were making a 11 second mr build. Isnt that what was posted? Im not trying to be an ***. I know the mr is not a drag car. I didnt buy it for that reason. All im saying is why advertise it as the first 11 second mr when its not. Does that not make since? I had a bad day when I said those comments so they may of seemed a bit harsh. It is a nice car jsr. It is just frustrating when everyone says oh its a automatic, which makes me want to go to the quarter and bust some heads. And I do think ssp makes great quality products.

As far as drag is concerned the SST acts as an automatic and would be beast in the 1/4 mile if setup properly mechanically and software wise.

Great thread! Thanks for the info and R&D on the X-MR. Best of luck with cracking the SST Software. Really interested in finding out the limits of the MR's SST. Hopefully they are much higher than everyone anticipates. Well I guess you guys have already proven that they already are....

I'm crossing my fingers in hopes the limits are very very high. These are the future of transmissions and Mitsubishi is giving us a taste of the technology dripping down from F1. Next up Evo with KERS?

Like I stated before, I had several goals for the car. I'm very sorry that I let you down and didn't get into the 11's, but sometimes you win.....and sometimes you loose. Nobody at the time had a big turbo set up on the MR so we didn't know how the launch control would react. This sometimes happens when you are the first to try something.

In regards to people calling the MR a automatic....yeah, I hate that **** too. You have no clue how many people come up to me when I'm driving the gtr and go..."wtf did you get a auto for".......uhhhgggg. Best part is when they're like "my friend has one but his is stick shift".......hmmmmm really .

I hope you guys aren't referring to me calling it an auto because i am not, was simply saying the MR will be better for drag if it ever gets ironed out.

What turbo setup were you running when you hit your 12.2?
