As much as i wanted to recommend an MR monster buildup for a track car, I think I'm going to stick with a GSR for my friend for now. Hopefully all these little issues will get sorted out soon enough and it will all come together!

I picked up an Evo X MR and am debating roadracing it for next season. I have to run everything stock plus a 60hp restrictor so Im wondering if the mr trans would hold up for a 40 minute race. I know id have to put on the pan and upgraded cooler, but I dont think id need upgraded clutch plates since I now use an OEM clutch (per scca rules) on my IX and dont put down much more than 300whp. My plan at this point is to tune the car to SCCA T2 specs and do some track days to see how she holds up, if all goes well, maybe run the MR in SCCA next year. I just cant have it going in to limp mode during a race.

You might want to give Robispec a call. He's been tracking a MR for quite a while now. The obvious must-do upgrade is the tranny cooler. I don't know if he did anything else.
