Had a 1/2 day rest, then drove to the OC Maryland car show (6 hr round trip)....Came back one night and went up to the Jersey shore for 3 days, then back to Maryland.
Went to MIR (Maryland International Raceway) for a car show/race event yesterday. I lost count of how many times I went down the 1/4 mile, sometimes hot lapping 6 times in a row!!. Used launch control every time!, and had 0 slow down messages. It was near 100 degree ambient, but Track temps were well over 120 degrees.

If nothing broke on you at MIR you are safe. That track hooks retardedly hard. I broke 2 transmissions, 1 transfer case and 1 axle on that track. When I got out to push my car out of the way the first time I broke my tranny there it was like walking on fly paper, my feet almost came out of my shoes.Originally Posted by jsr426

A little odd he hasn't posted his times yet. Not a good sign for those of us hoping the MR can get decent times

The MR uses the throttle plate to control power in 1st gear. Currently this throttle limit is causing issues on anything with a larger than stock turbo for launching. Additionally the stationary rev limit on the MR is currently not raisable. Once these two issues get sorted out, getting an MR out of the hole won't be an issue.Originally Posted by orthojoe

I have yet to break the 11 second barrier with mine, in spite of trap speeds over 120mph. It is frustrating to say the least, but in time I am sure this issue will be overcome as well. It is going to have to be dealt with cautiously because there may be a fine line between getting the car to launch well, and breaking 1st gear in the trans.

Bummer. I actually have the same 1st gear throttle cutback on my stock turbo. It became an issue after I switched to a 3 port bcs.

Hey Jeremy is SSP working on a stronger first gear? Are those even possible to change in the sst transmission. Also I was wondering if the tcu is part of the ecu. It seems like they just need to make a new computer for the evo x mr. Instead of doing all the tuning to the stock, why not configure a replacement??? I almost think it might launch better with out the launch control. Just ease it at the start then hammer it, who knows!

If ppg created one for the gtr (http://www.ppgearbox.com.au/) there is a chance that they might be at work for something for the mitsu transes. Would have to inquire with them about that. I've heard rumors of a company in Germany creating something for the sst, but that's all they are as far as I'm concerned.Originally Posted by usarmy1113

your 100% right....never been to a better prepped track. I open the door while I was waiting to stage....track was so sticky it pulled my shoe off.

You're 100% right...throttle plate closing is killing me off the line! 2.6 60ft's are nothing to brag about.....I could run faster.Originally Posted by kozmic27

TCU and ECU work together but are separate units. Easier said then done, but YES the software engineers have dropped the ball big time on the MR. Pretty damn sad that MR customers are the only ones doing R&D on these cars.
