Evo x se 450 whp 417 ft/lb e85

Chart shows my 2008 GSR with stock turbo vs. my 2010 SE with FP Green, both on E85. What stands out to me is how close torque and power ramp up is until 3500 rpm.

The SE motor has new forged internals and probably can support much higher torque and hp numbers but, since it’s on the stock SST clutches, it’s going to stay like this for a while.

Built Motor
  • New main bearings with ARP studs
  • PAUTER rods and bearings
  • CP pistons
  • 1MM oversize valves
  • KELFORD 214b cams
  • Stiffer valve springs with titanium retainers
  • ARP head studs

Mods
  • COBB intake
  • FP Green turbo
  • AMS Intercooler
  • COBB upper and lower IC pipes
  • 3 Port boost control solenoid
  • ID 1000cc injectors
  • WALBRO 400 fuel pump
  • AMS down pipe
  • COBB HFC and cat-back
  • E85 fuel
  • COBB Tuned

Nice numbers and I'm looking at an FP green build for my SE. I've been hesitant to do much beacuse of the SST and I'll be interested to see how yours handles that power. Do you run E85 all the time?

Yeah, the car has only 5,800 miles on it in total (200 with the new power) so we'll see how the clutches hold up. I'm planning on staying on E85 full time although I have a tuned 93 map too, just in-case.

Nice power out of that setup.

Think you can get a video going through the gears?

Just out of curiosity, how much did the build cost you? And why did you opt to have the motor built so early out? just for the extra peace of mind?

Power curve looks sweet! I take it its a JB Green?

Yes, journal bearing turbo.

Cost was pricey because it was done the right way with the motor removed, quality parts, new gaskets/ o-rings, broken in on the dyno for a couple of hours etc.

I decided on the build because cylinder # 4 went AWOL with 20% loss of compression for no reason we can determine; Piston is fine, rings are fine etc. At this power level IMO it was right on the bleeding edge anyway and rather than slap in a new piston and rod I just thought it was best to get it over with.

Do you mind PM'ing me the cost? and how much power were u making that might have contributed to the 20% loss in compression. Why did you opt out to not get it looked at under warranty?

The car was at 405 whp / 379 ft-lb when it lost the compression in cyl 4. There could have been a multitude of reasons, bad gas, bad injector etc. Since it was already modified I could not make a warranty claim; I knew the risk.

What are your current IDCs? I'm on 80% with the stock turbo + ID1000s on E70 and I have a FP Green sitting in the garage and I didn't think I had enough headroom!!
