The official "prosport gauges" thread
Before I go wiring these gauges up, I want to make sure that I'm tapping the correct wires. I have come across two different scenarios and this is the one I was going to perform:
RED gauge wire > YELLOW radio harness wire (constant voltage)
BLACK gauge wire > chassis
WHITE gauge wire > RED radio harness wire (ignition)
ORANGE gauge wire > ORANGE radio harness wire (illumination)
...can someone please confirm that this is correct? Thanks in advance!

BLACK gauge wire > chassis
WHITE gauge wire > RED radio harness wire (ignition)
ORANGE gauge wire > ORANGE radio harness wire (illumination)

edit: i heard the included hose was pretty flimsy, does anyone know where could i purchase a new sturdier hose to T off? autozone, or kragens possibly?

the hose i got with my boost gauge seem sturdy enough. it looks like the hose for fish tanks.
as long as the orange for the radio harness gets power when the parking lamps on then yes it should be what you need.
even defi gauges have a percentage of error. no gauge is going to be 100% perfect. as of right now my mechanical boost gauge is about 1psi of at 25 psi. i have an omni 4bar map sensor to log my boost. the gauge is a quick reference tool. i rather spend 85 on a premium prosport gauge than spend 200+ on a Defi. but to each his own.

i can not for the life of me get the gauge to power up when the key is in acc. the gauge only turns on when i flip on the city light. any ideas?
so i thought my wiring was bad but it wasnt. started working after pulling the battery. weird.
anyways, im a nub to evos, could someone tell me what the vacuum should be at idle? my car is sitting at 20inhg? under acceleration it peeks up to 5psi but i havent tried wot. boost leak?
edit: did some research, looks normal.

the prosports have an optional warning light for all their gauges. if its going in a race car, why not some autometers? theyre a pretty trusted brand in motorsports.
I had a good shop try (I watched what they did myself)
The color change with White in night/Amber in day worked...but who the hell would want that. The white was a flashlight in my face at night.
Now by reversing the connection on 2 wires the reverse color change SHOULD have worked....but didn't. I just have it set to amber all the time now which isn't as easy to see in the day but not terrible.
