Toruble reading mp3's

Anyone else have trouble reading mp3 disc's with more than like 5 songs on them?

I am using HP CD-R 700mb disc's and after 5 mp3's on a disc it starts to not be able to read the disc...I get no errors on the screen, it simply gives up.

are you burning the discs as data files?

Yes, data file with all mp3's in root of disc. If I place more than 5 onto disc, you can hear the NAV unit trying to read for like 1 min..then gives up.

Hmm, I don't think it shouldn't matter if it's burnt as a Data Disc or MP3 Audio Disc. I've done both with full capacity (wasted many CDs testing out the file folder structuring when I could have just looked at the manual) and they've both played perfectly.

Do these CDs you're burning only contain MP3s? and do they play fine on other MP3-CD players (or your computer media player even)?

They plain fine on my computer, do not play on a cheap $25 cd/mp3 player....

I am leaving the session open (to be able to add more later) maybe this is the reason. Is your session open or closed once you take it to the car?

It has to be closed for anything other than you PC to read it. If you close your session then the disc should play fine.

Other than that, the only issues I've heard from most HU's is that when you have too many folders things can freak out. But since you're putting the files in the root then it's your open session that the nav can't read.

Anyone still hitting this problem?

The MMCS sometimes has difficulty reading some MP3s on my MP3 CD. About 3/4 is not readable by MMCS and 1/4 is readable by MMCS on a single MP3 CD.

The error I received is something along the time "Play is impossible, eject the disc".

So far I tried the following
1) Replaced my DVD/CDRW Burner
2) Tried 3 different brand of CD-R
3) Used a different computer to burn the MP3 CD
None of these seems to be working

I use Nero also. I don't use multi-session and I always finalized the disc after burning.

Apparently, my problem is solved. It is not related with my DVD/CDRW burner or the software I'm using. It is related with the bit-rate of the MP3. Although MMCS advertised that it supports variable bit-rate but I guess sometime it doesn't. I'm not sure why's that.

What I did is I converted every MP3 that I plan to put on to CD from VBR (Variable Bit Rate) to CBR (Constant Bit Rate).

The software I used is WinMP3Packer which is freely available. For more information visit below website.

This is the reason. Never leave the session open or place more than one session on each disc.

Also, the stereo is capable of reading VBR files. I've never had any issue with them.
