Does the clicking you are all talking about sound like a fan rattling on something? I have this crazy clicking in my car, and I'm wondering if its the same thing.

DC motors have brushes, brushes make sparks, earliest type of radio transmitter was a spark gap.

Sirrus is still radio and can be affected by static generated by sparks.

Also EMI can travel down wires, like mentioned in other posts.
