Huh? Just because people are satisfised with their Valentine 1's, they're fanboys? It's customer testimony as to how well the radar detector is designed.

To me it sounds like you're looking for opinions from other people regarding other radar detectors. What have you heard that's bad about the V1? All the naysayers who can't afford or refuse to afford a V1 for a cheaper brand are the complainers.

Who cares for all the fancy gadgets on other detectors when all I need is immediate detection and where the signal is coming from? For how long has V1 been smashing their competitors year after year. Unlike other brand names like Cobra/Beltronics/etc...V1 didn't put out a lesser product year after year so they could upgrade that following new model year.

You truly get what you pay for. I've had my V1 serviced once during the ownership since 2002. You know what V1 did? They waived the repair fee...and shipped the detector back to me in 2 days. This was after the detector was way out of warranty, 2 months ago. Their customer service is top notch...which I can't say for the other brands.

STI Driver!

I love the V1 and I had one, but its such a target for thieves, and my car was broken into and it was stolen. Have the new STI driver, the range is incredible, and I dont miss the arrows.

The STI has some type of auto calibration where it tests itself, and my failed the self-test and Bel sent me a brand new one no charge.

V1 or any of the high range Bel/Escort should do the job!

With the auto lockout feature, I don't need to worry about multiple false alarms, it is a thing of beauty. When the 9500i first released and I found out it not only locks the GPS location but also the unique id, that sold me (wouldn't want a cop hiding out by one of those detector signs throwing me off, which I have seen numerous times).

I have previously owned an 8500 red and a 8500 x50 blue, both of which seemed to go into a calibration mode that made them nearly unusable. I suppose I should send them into Escort as they are just sitting around in the garage at this point.
It cost 60 bucks to fix mine, when it went screwy.

New case, Cable, and suction cups. Along with fixing the unit.

V1. Thing with valentine is that the body shape stays the same. So the internal components stay the same, and you can upgrade that.

V1

V1 is in my opinion the best way to go. Yes, it does alert to all radar signals, even the unwanted annoying ones. But IMHO instead of letting the pasport or whatever you guys have make the decision that the radar signal should be thrown out, Ill make that decision myself and just press my silence button on my V1.

Oh and not to mention the looks of the V1, I really dont like the looks of those ovalish constantly shape shifting contorted boxes that other companies use.

The V1 is the only way to go.

As for detectability, My radar detector always alerts me a few seconds BEFORE I can even see the cops..
