Stock Speaker Replacement
Im planning on changing my speakers... i have the rockford system. I was looking at the stock spacer and i cant figure out how to use it for the new one... help?
Just rip out the stock internals and use the surrounding plastic to screw in the new speaker. After that you'll be able to put the new speaker back in the door using the stock surround piece. Make sure the replacement speakers are 6 1/2 inches. Good Luck. Only down side is that the stock speakers will be destroyed. I also had problems with the scochse piece. Couldn't figure out how to put it back it. Destroying the stock speakers were a better solution.
I used an 1 inch spacer to install the 6.5 inch speakers in the doors. You can buy the spacer online, any stereo shop or even Best Buy. You mount the spacer to the car by drilling screw holes. After that you need to drill the mounting holes for the speaker and mount the speaker to the spacer.
Just changing the RF system speakers for aftermarket ones made a world of difference. Everything sounds much clearer.
