The Metra and Scosche dash kits aren't even close to the quality of the JDM kits. It looks alot better and it's definitely a worth while upgrade.

Its 234 USD plus shipping on there or you can find people selling theirs in the FS forum. It also comes with new vents and the the plastic clips that hold it in place.

There was someone selling one couple weeks ago an I just missed it but the guy who bought it ended up wanting to go a different route and sold it to me. He saw my posts about how much I hated the Metra kit an contacted me

So I got some feedback from Metra who responded to my email pretty quick and the guy seemed cool. They don't have any issues with their kits on the evo's and told me I needed a rear support bracket (Metra part#BS18). I'm still waiting to find out why they don't include it in their "kit" but I guess that solves the dash gap problem. You get what you pay for so I can see since it cost's around $60 the kit isn't as bad as it looked in my car.

Here's a pic they sent me.

Your new dash kit looks great. Metra seems to put out a lot of crap... people just buy them because they are easier to find.

It's tough to tell but it seems like there is still a bit of a gap in the center, from the pic that Metra sent you. Plus that's a single DIN and not near as much weight as a double DIN. Back straps are ftl. Your new JDM kit looks good

The Metra dash kit is horrid!

The JDM dash kit is ok (fits well but opening is too large for any after market double din giving it an unfinished look)

Scosche seems to have the best dash kit out there. (fits snug as a bug) Its also made to recess the head unit, keeping the glare away. (just like most oem Navi dashes)

Thanks for the comments

The Scosche deff helps with the glare but the color match is worse than metra. All the kits have their give an takes, you just gotta decide what looks best to you.

I have both the Metra and Scosche kits, and i like the Scosche one the best
I paid $14 with shipping from SonicElectronix.com when it first became available.

i paid $35 for the Metra kit and so i guess the $14 kit made up the difference in cost as i'm quite pleased with it until i can get a JDM kit
i really need to find something to cut down on the glare though, my alpine glares like theres no tomorrow, and i recently got my windows tinted too so it helps a little but not entirely
