I need your guys inputs, trying to figure out if i should just replace the sub in my Rockford Fosgate or completely remove the RF system and start fresh. Due to limited trunk space i need to see how much space there is with an aftermarket sub box installed.

Any aftermarket sub (unless you have one built that replaces the spare tire) will leave you with less room than the stock sub. Do some searching in this section, though, as there was a really good write up about someone putting an aftermarket driver in the stock enclosure. It did require some work, but if space is the biggest concern (and you must have a sub) then this is the way to go.

If you only do 1 sub, you should be ok. Just find a really good shop to build you a nice box that fits right where the old one used to be. 2 is a little cramped.
As he ^^ said, aftermarket subs can be made to fit in the RF box, but it's some work. I tried, and made it happen, but after a while I just scrapped it and put a different box in. The RF box probably won't have the right amount of airspace for your new sub either, but it would work.

I'm thinkin about runnin 3 8" in the rear seat...removing the arm rest and having a fiber glass box made to run from where the arm rest would be down to the back of the center console and just a 5 or 6 channel amp mounted in the trunk....yeah kinda upset I can't fit my golf clubs in the trunk!

You're in the wrong section, but yes, check out Wicked CAS - they have driver's side and passenger side boxes for the CT9A.Originally Posted by 97 dsm 4g63
