HELP! Pioneer Z120BT / MITO-02 / ASWC
Trying to install a Pioneer Z120BT with the Axxess MITO-02 and ASWC into my '08 X with the Rockford Fosgate system and ran into a few problems:
1. ASWC doesn't control the system. Black to ground, red to the yellow (ACC) wire in the 20 pin factory plug. I connected the black/green stripe wire to the black/blue stripe (pin 19) on the factory plug. I grounded the blue/black stripe (pin 2) on the factory plug. The ASWC blinks like it is auto-detecting and blinks the right number of times for the Pioneer, but it doesn't control anything.
2. The Pioneer unit doesn't turn off when I turn the car off. I checked the power supply hookups. Black to ground, orange to radio illumination (green/white stripe on factory plug), red to ACC (yellow on the factory plug), and yellow to 12V (red on factory plug). The system comes on when I turn the car on, but doesn't turn off.
3. No sound anyway. I checked everything I could on the MITO and the only thing I can come up with are possibly the amp turn-on or power antenna wires. I ran the amp turn-on to the pink wire on the 18 pin plug, and power antenna to the pink wire on the 20 pin plug. All the RCAs were connected and I tried adjusting the pots on the MITO but couldn't get sound at all.
Any suggestions?

I'm with the blonde here, why don't you try reversing the red and yellow connections? If those were reversed from what the system was expecting, I could see that what you described is a possible behavior.
i installed quite a few headunits in my life and i have NEVER done yellow to red. red is 12V and yellow is acc which would explain why the radio will stay on when the car is not running.
Thanks guys. I was going about it a little wrong (first time, cut me some slack
). I was referencing the vehicle plug instead of the harness. I have almost everything straightened out. The only problem I have left is with the ASWC. Volume down works fine, volume up does nothing, seek/track up is volume up, seek/track down does nothing, and mode sets the system to ATT. The lights all flash the correct codes (5 for black/green, 6 for Pioneer). I followed lancerarmstrong's advice here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ml#post8833340
Anyone have any suggestions? Blonde, you ever get yours to work correctly?

kinda. what i ended up doing is take AMI customs advice and just get rid of the ASWC piece of **** (i actually ran it over with my car) and go with the PAC-PS which works PERFECTLY and took a whole 10 mins to install and setup. between the ****ty quality of the ASWC and the even ****tier customer support from Metra, you would be better off just doing what i did and never buying Metra again.

hey can you tell me how you wired up the PAC-PS switch? Does the one wire connect to the blue wire with a silver dab of paint on the the factory wiring harness? A picture would be helpful if you have one.
Also, was this done on an MR which came with factory steering wheel controls already installed?
Thanks

hey, i really don't remember off the top of my head
i can take some pictures next time i take the dash apart but i don't know when that will be. and it is in a 2010 GSR which does come with the steering wheel control already installed.

Apparently the ASWC has a manual programming mode. Nice that the instructions that came with it mention nothing about it...
I'll give it a try tomorrow and hopefully that solves the rest of my problems.
Oh, and with the Z120BT, I don't have any complaints about the stock amp. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but if you add staging it sounds great!

+1 on the ASWC beign shtty, go with the PAC SWI-PS (the newer blue one). Power, ground, grounding 1 of the stock wires, and tapping a stock wire for the remote, very simple install considering you dont have to use any resistors on the X.
Yeah works great, no lag when I use the controls. If the box would have come with the manual programming instructions instead of just the vehicle application guide, it would have gone a lot smoother. They have the instructions on their website.
