Radio Display isnt bright enough

I know i just got my Evo 3 days ago, and i have found the brightness button for the dash display, but it doesnt make my radio display brighter, and even in overcast weather i cant see the radio/station display.

I briefly looked in the manual, but didnt see anything on how to make the radio display brighter.

Could use yalls help on this one, thx

Is it the OEM head unit or aftermarket?

The red liquid crystal display on the Rockford Fosgate is completely separate from the cluster/dash lights. If that's what you're talking about, then no it can't be adjusted. I don't have any problems seeing mines. If yours is too dim, it may be defective.

not to sound like a dick..... but my wife has an outlander which is the truck version of the evo (but not exactly for all you bashers out there) I can see the display no problem in either sunny or overcast to dark. Only time i cant see it is if the sun shines at a certain angle into the display. But what im saying is it might just be just you.

i know i have bad eyes, but i had a passenger agree with me, its very dull even in overcast weather. Sunny weather its pointless trying to figure out what its trying to display (albeit it is there)

at night its fine

+1 .. I've never had a problem seeing the readout on mine.. take it back to the dealership and see what they think. Or maybe try driving around without your park lights on during the day.. I think the display dims slightly when the park lights and/or head lights are switched on.

Also, check that there isn't a protective film or something still stuck on it.. if so, maybe somebody just forgot to remove it during inspection.

well, it has rained everyday since i got the thing, so majority of the times i have the lights on, and yes i know it dims the display. When i was driving home this morning it was fine (lights on overcast/sun not out). When driving to work this morning (lights off/sun out) and it was ook. Nowhere near as bright as my dash display. I know theres no protective film on it, but my glasses are fairly scratched up, and i know thats a majority of my issue. Ill report back when some contacts come in this week

thx for the help guys

Hey Slay0r, you can also try to have your windows tinted. Maybe that will block off some of the sun's glare and darken the interior a bit to help you see it.
