On paper they seem really nice, and I really like the idea of running identical speaker sets front & rear with the coaxial/separates mounting option.
A while back ID had a problem with their crossovers, but I'm guessing they've fixed that if guys are comparing them with Dynaudio, Rainbow, RE, XXX, MB & Alpine Type-X.
Not sure on the mounting depth & clearance w/spacer for our car with those speakers.
Dunno, I'm kinda interested myself. Buy them & tell me if they really suck or don't fit at all

ok guys was wondering what you think on prices for this set up. I have already bought my amp the xd700/5 picked it up for $399 online. Now my shop here says they can do the Hertz Hi energy with, wiring kit, rca and install of the amp, dvd/nav /speakers for $900. Also should I pick up a set of coax's for the rear or just use the oems for now off the deck?
Unless you plan on using 4 of the 5 channels to power the front mids & tweets separately, then you might as well get the Hi-Energy co-axes for the back and run them off the JL amp.
So you're getting a nav system, Hi-Energy comps, wiring & install w/amp, all for $900? Not sure what nav it is, but that seems pretty cheap imo.
Just be sure to get them to seal & deaden all 4 doors.. preferably with something lightweight (Second Skin Damplifier regular, or maybe Dynamat SuperLite).
No sense spending that much cash on a nice setup, only to have it play like crap

well i have decided I will do the hertz hi energy, but looking into putting in a set of focal 165ca1 for the rear fill, only reason is because I can pick them up essentially free from amazon using gift certificates. I am wondering if they will sound weird with the hertz? or should I just go with some dsk165?

bringing this back from the dead. I am still looking into replacing the speakers and based on the recommendation of my shop I am going to try out the audison voce avk6 for my fronts and just leave the stock rears in for now. If I don't like this set up then they will switch it out for the hertz hi energy for all 4 doors. Does anyone have experience with the Voce's and what do they usually run for? Thanks for the help
