Another factory NAV question

I just bought a 08' EVO X today with the factory MMCS/NAV option (non rockford system) and I can't seem to find a AUX input for my iPod. I have the n-01 model, am i SOL?

I searched and it seems there isn't a direct iPod hook-up option either, or is there?

Thanks in advance!

If you have an aux-in, it's probably in the very back of the cubby below the hvac controls.. should be on the left, with a flat rectangular rubber cap that you have to pry up to access the RCAs.

I've also seen the aux-in mounted in the glove box, and also just loose RCA cable hanging there as well.

ETA: And, no USB port unless the car or stereo/nav system is 2011+

So replacing this MMCS with say a Pioneer or kenwood double din will probably be an easier option to get more functionality

Yeah, if you need USB/iPod connectivity, then aftermarket would be easier, and probably cheaper.

If you just need RCA analog inputs, then there's probably some way to wire that in to your factory system (or just buy an RCA to 3.5mm adapter, if you already have the RCA inputs).

So you don't have any RCA inputs at all? Or you're wanting USB input??

I'd ideally like USB input so I can control from the screen, but I'd settle for RCA inputs for the time being. I looked for RCA input but can't find anything at all, I find it really odd to be honest

That is odd. Is there at least a cutout in the back of the area behind the cigarette lighter?

If so, you might be able to install the RCA aux-in box.. just not sure how you would go about wiring it to the stereo/navi.

And for USB, definitely go aftermarket in my opinion.

non rockford i believe means not an SSS, not SSS means base and i belive the base models did not come with it but you can certainly install yourself.

if i were you though i would install the OEM rca but with the video.

I think I'll just upload music via cds for now, but eventually will get an aftermarket unit with backup cam and bluetooth and all that good jazz
