KeyFob Won't open door remotely

So my key-fob won't work remotely if I try to hit the lock, unlock or trunk on the remote, but will open the doors when I grab the handle and will start the car when I sit down in the car.

I just changed the battery but still no luck. Sorry if this problem has been posted already I tried searching but didn't find this particular situation. I called Hub- in Houston H-290 and they said my car is out of warranty so I'd have to buy a new key-fob or pay for a re-flash which may or may not work.(pshhhh)

This recently happened to me. Apparently after replacing the battery the key has to be "synced" with the car, or something.

Hub Katy did it for me. Fortunately for me it was under warranty.

But this is BS if these batteries are going to go out this quickly and they can't be replaced without the key being serviced by the dealer for a fee.
