Aftermarket alarm question

Hey guys

Purchased a Python 574 alarm system with remote start, for the module bought a flash logic FLCAN 64...got the module programmed and ready to go

My installer I guess is worried about installing the remote start - says that he emailed flash logic for some install instructions with no avail... (I guess he's worried about if the car is in gear, would it still attempt to start); worst case scenario is that I would give up a key for remote start to work - I don't have a fast key so why would I still have to give up a key? Should I even trust this installer?

You need to give up the key because your car has an immobilizer. Most shops won't install a remote start on manual for liability reasons. I've done it, but the customer had to sign a release that waived any liability on the shop. This was back before DEI had the 689M module available.

Talk to your installer about using a Directed 689M module. If he's not familiar with it, maybe it's time to find another installer.

Finally got the alarm installed yesterday...installer had a hard time with wiring, but eventually figured out the blue wire from the battery turned purple (kind of weird)...so I don't want to give up a key, is there a cheaper way to get an extra key?
