FAST system removal
FAST system removal
We are racing a 2008 GSR that, originally, had the FAST key system. Something happened with the cage install or any number of other changes such that the FAST key system no longer works. We use the key taped to the fob (nice!). I'd like to get rid of the whole system and switch over to traditional key or push button start. It simply needs to be reliable. Any ideas on how to clean this up?
Funny, I just typed a search in Google, as I was thinking about this issue again and the only result was my post from 2012...
Anybody do any thinking about this since 2012?

The car still has a key with the FAST key system. I'm sure you could take it to a mitsu dealer. Even if it didn't have the FAST system, the it still uses a chip key and an immobilizer. SO even with FAST disable, you'd still be stuck needing a key that has as chip.
Only real solution for the car to be truly keyless would be a stand alone EMS.

Well yes, as the car isn't street legal, can't easily go to the dealer. We are considering a Motec or similar for other reasons, but a byproduct would be getting rid of the FAST system.
FAST key issues
I have a 19 Mirage G4 and the FAST key just started acting up after about a month of me having the car. Sometimes I can use button to open door, sometimes I can't. Any idea what the issue could be?
