aux for the 2014 head unit
aux for the 2014 head unit
Has anyone added it successfully? And if so what parts did you use? Does it read video? I really couldnt find much info on it in the user manual. If it has been discussed sorry I searched but I couldnt find anything.
Thank you in advance.

No I even emailed rockford fosgate and eh as expected this forum is ABOVE AND BEYOND more helpful than any company lol. The instructions are around, but what i want to work is the video.
I found this post on the other forum post and all I had to do was disconnect the connector/harness that was already on the vehicle in a dummy connector (just to the right of the aux opening) and plug it into a mitsu AUX module (red/white RCA) and suddenly I had AUX support lol. It works just fine. I'm not sure about video though. That's next. I'd like to add rear-view camera support without using mistu's new awfully located and awful looking rearview camera.

(I was thinking of trying to use it for a dash cam.)
There's a USB in the glove box for MP3 audio, but there's also an SD flash slot in the unit itself.
So rather than letting your ipod rattle around while driving, you can just pull the microSD and put it in a SD converter.
Or just copy the files to a full sized SD card.
Or stream the audio via bluetooth.
(I rip my favorite tracks off my CDs and put the MP3 files on an SD card -- about a week's worth of my favorite tracks without having to juggle media.)
If you do install an analog "aux" plug, you might want to extend it to the center armrest box, so there's some place to put the source rather than lying on the console.
(The first corner, it'll go walkabout.)
I have the non nav unit with the volume knob on the on the wrong side too lol
Ok Everyone, I have big news. I finally added an aux input to my factory touch headunit in my 2014 X, non SSS.
It took some time but I got it to work. It works under bluetooth, so I can't say it's perfect. If anyone knows about that feel free to share. Since my phone is a POS I can't say if it affects it or not.
I will need to take my headunit back out in order to get a few pictures so I can do a write-up, but in short you use the kit for the older X's head unit, MZ360136EX, the one with the buttons, and instead plug the terminals into 3 different slots. There is a 3.5mm input on the rear of the headunit, but it does nothing, go figure.
Hopefully tomorrow I can post the write up. This was one of the biggest *****es about my new Evo, that Mitsu couldn't even add an AUX input. I took it upon myself to add it, and boy I'm happy about it.
