Alright, I got around to installing my camera today. I just wanted to share my experience and hopefully help new people out and tell them issues I encountered so they won't. First of all, I really didn't want to drill any holes in my bumper, I didn't want to cut and splice any wires off the Evo, at the end of the day I wanted to leave the car unscratched.

That's the camera I bought.
I started by cutting the video wire to expose the signal and ground wires. I attached female d-sub crimps on the ends, you can get them here, I got mine at frys, really cheap. Make sure you crimp the connectors properly or they will come out.

Amazon.com: Pc Accessories- D-Sub Female Crimp Pins, 100/Bag Gold Plated: Electronics Amazon.com: Pc Accessories- D-Sub Female Crimp Pins, 100/Bag Gold Plated: Electronics

Going behind the touch screen display, insert into pin 3 and 7

Push them in as far as you can to get a good connection, I had it come out a couple times. the photo shows it half way. Go until you can see the crimps. If you want to do a check, the cigarette lighter supplies 12V, connect the camera to power from the cigarette lighter. Make sure your car is in reverse, I thought something was wrong when it didn't come on the first time I tried. Pin 2 in the 8P grey connector is the reverse sensor, it will only power up when its in reverse.

I fished the wire down through the opening that was exposed when I took the display out, it leads to under the steering wheel. Tucking the wire is extremely easy. I was honestly nervous about it at first, but again, really easy. Keep tucking through under the side sills. There's a small opening to the trunk through the back seat. It's going to be near the top corner.

It's going to pop up here.

I ended up having to remove the sub woofer, it's a little hard to un-clip, I ended up just sliding the connector off and used a flat head screw driver to disconnect. Wiring tapping easier and fishing the wires to the outside will be easier with the sub gone.

You'll find a bunch of wires in the corner. The white wire is the reverse light power, I used this to power my camera. Not wanting to cut the wires and splice them I decided to just wire tap. There are many ways to do wire taps, but i found the easiest and most relible way is to use posi-taps.

Again, really easy to use these and the camera will only have power when the reverse lights go on, perfect.

I fished the video and power wire through the opening on the side, its right behind where the sub woofer was.

Now in the back, I was able to remove the center nut behind the license plate and get the camera wires under it.

I used the posi-lock connectors to connect the power wires.

Here is the wires connected and zip tied to the diffuser

I just used electrical tape to wrap them, I'm going to go back with silicone or just use a glue gun to cover the connection to protect it from the weather.

Not wanting to drill holes, I just used 3m double sided outdoor tape

This stuff is strong and the camera isn't that heavy, I expect this to stay for a while, months, maybe years.

Finished.

I did it without drilling any holes. Mount the camera with heavy duty 3m tape and run wire up through grommet in trunk.

I just bought a used 2014 Lancer ES my first project is to install a reverse camera to this car. I bought a used touchscreen from Ebay for $150 and according to the seller, it was from an Outlander Sport. It is now installed and works perfect. Then two weeks ago, I purchased a used OEM camera from a 2014 Ralliart with no navigation for a very good price then I ordered the wire harness from the dealer (MZ36033EX). Unfortunately, the plugs didn't fit at all. Then I went to different Mitsubishi dealers to order the exact wire harness for it but they could't find it. We used the Ralliart VIN given to me by the seller of the used camera but no luck. Now I am stuck and I don't know what to do. Please advise.
Thank God! The OEM camera I bought used for my Lancer ES is now working. I used the http://axxessinterfaces.com/index.ph...roducts_id=407, it is designed for our OEM touchscreen. Then I bought the OEM camera wiring harness for Lancer. The audioshop guy installed for me. Now it's working perfectly! The Axxess AX-MITSUCAM is a big help.

That is the worst spot for a camera I have ever seen on any car. I put mine right on top of the license plate. Can't even see it. But to each his own. Glad you got it working.

To be honest, I just want to follow the factory camera location, that's all. That's why I bought a used OEM camera instead of better aftermarket one. I ordered a wicked white camera cover from the dealer cos this black really stands out. This Lancer is only the base model ES, just for me to get from point A to point B so I'm not too particular about it.

You probably wouldn't want to. There's built in lines on the backup screen

Thanks a lot for this write-up. I'm planning to do this soon. There's only one thing that doesn't make sense. You bought a camera with guidelines? Everyone before was saying to get a camera without guidelines, otherwise you'll have two sets of guidelines? So which one is it? I'm jw because I'm planning to buy a camera soon.
