Does the 2014 Evo touchscreen radio support back up camera?
Hey guys,
I've seen a few people install a backup camera on the NAV systems in the Evo and was wondering if the 2014 touchscreen radios support that as well? The only reason I ask is because I saw a Video option listed in the menu but it was grayed out. Thanks .

Not yet man...I'm waiting for spring 'cause winter's been a biotch and I didn't feel like working on the car. I also went to the Mitsu dealer to look at their version of the backup camera and I have to say that it is the ugliest implementation that I've seen on a car. It sticks out like grandmas huge mole...so lame.

So there are video inputs for the 2014 touchscreen? So any back up cam would potentially work?
I found the OEM ones, seems kind of expensive, I will have to look around for an aftermarket solution.
Camera (MZ380552EX):

Harness (MZ360338EX):

I've been looking into this and talking to a friend about it who added a cam to his STI, is there a decent guide DIY for this anywhere? Or does anyone have a photo of the back of the touchscreen? Or is it the wire harness listed above proprietary and kind of locks us into using the Mitsu unit? I had a back up cam on my last car and really miss having one.
edit, nevermind, found enough info here to go by http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=139202

Actually if you can get the make/model of the 14 touch screen radio it might be easier to dig around and see if it will 100% take a camera, and how. That or call the dealership and ask for the required part numbers (especially the harness) and go from there.
A friend of mine works for a company that does installs on new cars for various electronics and could probably find out if I gave him the info.

For anyone looking for backup cameras, here is a list of major options:

I'm personally leaning towards the Kenwoods one.

Dude that ba, I was so hoping to get this,m I just dont think it was worth 2000 dollars for a gps radio unit, when our 2014 units are pretty good, with bluetooth etc. I know there was a how-to for installing the backup cam with the gps radio unit, but not sure about our units. Let us know if someone finds out more information on how to hook it up.
