Question Weird Problem with Driver's Side Taillight Bulb (Not Brake Light)

Hey guys, I'm having a weird problem with the rear tail light. The light that comes on when we turn our lights on (not the brake light) doesn't go on once in a while (driver's side only).

Out of frustration, I did a light tap on the tail light that went out and it came back on. Ever since then, whenever I notice the light isn't on, I just tap the outside and it comes back on.

Does anyone have an idea of what may be wrong and what steps I should take to fix it?

I'm guessing it's not the bulb as the light comes back on when I tap it, is it something with the connection? And if so, what should I check for?

Thank you guys, really appreciate it!

Edit---
Changed the wire and viola works perfectly now

Check the connection/wires like you said. Make sure nothing is loose. The bulb might not be making good contact. You can always change it if you're not sure. I'd start with that.
