As Bryan has said a delta AFR of 0.3-0.5 is significant. That being said what AFR that is safe will be dependent on the fuel quality, boost, and timing.

An interesting data point. During our testing of the HKS filter, no where did the car gain power due to the leaner mixture. That probably means high 10s to lows 11s is optimal for the 91 octane fuel being run. Removing any more fuel would only be reducing saftie among other things.

It would be, maybe, a bit optimistic to say anything under 12 afr is safe. In specific cases, maybe. When you are tuning for an entire country full of changing fuel qualities, 12s could be unsafe. Hopefully you can understand our position here?

I'll talk a bit more when I'm not typing on my phone

I'm running Perrin's stage 1 map, and their notes say that a drop in filter is ok to use(HKS, K&N, Works). I am running the stock filter anyway because I just want to be safe until I get my wideband installed next week. I'll let you know what the A/F ratio does when I switch to my K&N panel filter. Feels pretty darn good right now though on a stock filter.

Anymore thoughts/updates on this?

If I use 93 octane, can I safelu run Cobb Stg1 with a Works filter without any issues?

We cannot say that the drop-ins will be fine with the off the shelf mapping. Our tuners will be hashing out tunes for intakes/drop-ins next week. Currently they are prepping for a meet.

Thanks,

Probably a question that everyone else knows the answer to, but here goes anyway:

If/when you guys come out with tunes specific to different intakes/filters, will those flashes be available for free download to people who've purchased an AccessPort? I assume the answer is yes, just looking to clarify.

Thanks!

My personal opinion is to have a map for intake and different restrictor pill combo... That lets the turbo perform better and then take advantage of the free breathing intake... i bet a lot of people would be interested... But i could also be wrong.

This (in my eyes) would be a very cost effective and reversible (Read: "warranty friendly") way of making great power.

The intake maps will be offered in the stage I and stage II flavors, stage II implying the tune will also require a pill removal. Don't worry, we'll get y'all taken care of.

Thanks,

ahhh hell lol what am I waiting on then! I have been patiently waiting for an AMS intake map because I don't want my $300 intake sitting in a box in storage if I put stock airbox back in. If i can get that map for free when the time comes then I am all over an AP now.

ok so i've been searching around this forums about Cobb AP and Perrin AP. i have a HKS drop-in filter, and im looking at these maps, i love the economy mode feature can you have more then one map on a AP at one time? and are there any cobb maps that i have to purchase if i dont get the accessport from cobb? i know that perrin is a little more aggressive then cobb but what would be recommended for just a hks drop-in.

thanks for your patients, sorry if any of these questionss have already been covered or are really retarded
