Ok so Evoscan does not work for the X how do you plain on getting around this. I mean you would not want to tune a car not knowing if it is knocking or not. Anyone can flash a car but a good tunner will log it too.

For now, most use a generic OBD2 logger and compare the actual IGN timing to the target IGN timing in the maps. If the actual is lower than what is in the maps, more than likely it's caused by knocking. IGN timing should gradually climb, in most tunes at WOT, as the RPM rises. If you have fluctuation or dips in the IGN timing, it's more than likely knock.

I haven't flashed with the computer I am on now, but it's using SP1 and it installed fine and the program loads fine. I haven't opened a ROM or done a ECU read or write.

^ How much are we talking about for an e-tune? Can you e-tune to specific mods?

Does this one include Flash recovery in case the ECU gets bricked?
