It's not the software, it's the tuning. It's a tool like any other tool currently out.

Edit, I just seemed to have driver problems. PCMScan is working now.

I am not as comfortable with the open source at this time due to the lack of data logging functions but I am sure that those features will be added going forwards.

I continue with the Ecutek and Cobb AP tuning as well for those who are interested in those more delux platforms.

At this point in time Ecutek remains the clear best choice on the market IMHO for several reasons

* On board full data logging supported by Delta Dash a world class data logger

* Live map tracing through all the maps with lambda (a/f) and knock colloring - very helpful

* World class tech support and base maps provided

Ecutek was the first out to market a year ago and I have over 70 Ecutek Evo X's out there running with no cel issues of any problems of any kind so with that kind of track record of reliable and problem free operation its a winner.

Its a great time for Evo X owners with many great tuning tools available and many very experienced tuners to do tuning, the Evo X is now a very tuneable application indeed.

Al

For an Evo X, is there any advantage to having the Full adapter version of the Openport 2.0 cable for $189 or do you just need to get the $169 Openport 2.0 (without adapter kit).

Thanks,
Brian

I have the cable for the Evo 8 and 9 too. So I guess I dont need the adapter kit. Thanks for the information.

I've been looking around openecu.org and aktivematrix.com for a X rom to play with, but I can't find one. Anyone have a link?

in the download section at openecu.org, you need to scroll more than 3/4th of the way down. You should see it there. search for "Evo X" or something similar,

I thought the adapter kit was for the subarus. That's the one I bought.

I also could not find these maps even after searching. It would be great if someone could post up some links.
