Question about the Cobb AP?

I was at my dealer yesterday and when I mentioned the Cobb AP to one of the techs who's really cool and he was like.. WHAT?!? NO DON'T DO THAT.

He said that the 'fast key' information runs through the stock map and that they have already had guys that have done this and their car won't start because it washes out all of that stuff. They just have to reflash it back to stock and its fine...... but does this guy have any idea what he's talking about? I know hes prolly WAY off but just making sure.

full of crappola.

And don't talk to your dealership about this stuff... it can/will void your warranty.

plug in only when reflashing. Mine's a paperweight 99.99% of the time.

you can use the AP for realtime datalogging and data channel viewing, its a nifty little tool.

Uh they actually sell the Cobb Access Port at Subaru dealerships for STI's and legacies and offer it as a reflash package.....

yea and that pisses me off about mitsu cuz they are trying to compete with subie but yet they dont provide small aftermarket products at the dealership that wont affect warranty or allow you to do minor bolt ons or reflashes. the subie techs even help you out with questions about adding power. sometimes makes me wanna trade and get a subie.
