Yup agreed. But if Im not mistaken the trick would be to find a routine that interfaced with the tcu somewhere and was aware of the shift mode. Then you could potentially leverage that. Impossible to say whether or not such a routine exists but it doesn't seem too unlikely given how tightly the two seem to be married.

Good questions, what exactly are the technical hurdles to implement some of these features on the Evo X ECU?

a tps cut on knock would be very cool but may be dangerous if abrupt or unexpected don't you think?

Do you think there is any way to make changes to our center digital display? With the 2010 being in color, I have a few changes I'd make.

And, it would be very interesting to add stuff from the ECU on there, like a screen that shows boost, knock sum, speed, tps, and more.

It could be a percent cut, or a taper off. An instant cut to 75% throttle wouldn't affect too much, but should stop the knock and save the engine.

Exactly what I was thinking, somewhere around 40% would still allow 20-25 psi so you could test the effects of cutting to certain TPS levels to see what works best. Heck even if you had the boost cut to WG pressure during major knock that would work similar as well but maybe not quickly enough.

yeah I did the WGCut on CT9A, but throttle is a MUCH better way of doing it.

realistically you have about 0.5 second reaction time from when hearing the knock to taking your foot off the gas... this could be cut dramatically by using the ECU instead of the human
