Dyno ap accuracy

I just went out and did another dyno run with my ap, this time in 3rd gear from 2000-7000 rpms. I only hit 6750rpms.(i dont know if that affects the results). It was 3 degrees celcius. My last run above it was about 10 celcius with 2nd gear pull. My car definately hits harder in the cold temps, but the results I just got are CRAZY. Max hp = 422.51 @ 4477 rpms, max tq = 500.45 @ 4285 rpms! Something ain't right!!

The built in dyno on the AP is not even a little bit accurate

Hollywood made his accurate. His post on the subject is on the other forum in the dyno section.

In theory, it should work the same as virtual dyno's do.

I got 420hp/450tq on on a car with an intake, turbo back, and OTS Stg 2 tune. It's not even in the ballpark. I actually made 328whp/349wtq on Cobb Plano's Dyno on the exact same setup. And it was COOLER on the dyno day haha.

I don't trust the virtual dyno's either, but the one that Barnhill has put together seems better than most.

The same day I dyno'd my car on a J-Trans mustang at 500hp/400 tq, The dyno in my AP said I had some idiotic amount of power over 650 with a similarily stupid torque number. This was on a perfectly flat road, with a known weight from the scales at an NHRA sanctioned track.

I messed around with it until it got close, but in doing so I had to tell it that my car weighed about as much as a civic. It may have improved since then, but I'll have to wait until I tune a car with an AP again to find out.

is cobb bhp? If stock is around 220whp and 291bhp then its about 25% difference. so your 420 bhp comes out to about 315whp (ap) which isn't that far off....who knows
