help with "service engine" codes

im in dire need of help with my intake readings. I have had a zchip and an intake on the car for about a week and there were no problems or no CELs. Today my Service engine light came on, and the only readout on my screen in my cluster is "service engine"......I checked the codes and the were something about the MAF, and air intake temperature. On my obd readings gauge it is not reading anything for the air intake temperature. Is there a sensor besides the MAF that could be causing this? any help would be awsome!

if you could post the exact code it would probably help alot.

which intake do you have? Are you sure the MAF is connected properly? Is it possible that it got damaged somehow? If it's a cheapo ebay CAI then it's pretty possible that the location they laid out for the MAF sensor is just a bad place to put it.

I took off the zchip today to see if that was the problem....turns out im still boosting up to 26psi and holding 23. All that is on the car is a taketa intake (over $300 system i bought new). I tried to check the engine codes, but i reset them after it happened to see if it was just a one time thing that would go away....only problem is that the service required light is still on and now its not stating any codes. is there anyway to get the codes back? What do you think it could be on the intake that is making me over boost?

When did the light come one? What kind of driving were you doing? If you hit 30 psi the ASC turns off and a "service required" message appears. Its normal for those of us hitting 30lbs.

Did the zchip install have you remove or replace the boost pill or otherwise make any changes to the vacuum lines? I doubt that 26psi would hurt anything on a stock tune...unless your gas is really lousy.

im not sure what driving i was doing. I dont think the zchip is supposed to do anything to the stock boost. I didnt touch anything but the wiring harness. The only thing that touched vacuum lines was the boost gauge i tapped into the bov right around the time the service engine light came on. How do i reset it so the "service engine" goes away....if its going to be there i want it to come back so i can see the codes. Thanks for the input guys

try disconnecting your boost gauge and see if the problem keeps up?

Which vacuum line did you tap? Was it related to boost control?

Is the return line for the BCS plugged? That could cause the air to not be able to bleed away from the wastegate and cause the overboost.

Weird that you tapped the vac lines right when the problem started and didn't mention it before... anything else you forgot to mention?

i tapped to boost gauge to a t-fitting where the bov connects. I checked these connections and they were completely sealed to my knowledge. I havent touched anything with the boost controller. I literally installed an intake, a boost gauge and a z-chip all at the same time. I unplugged the z-chip and im still overboosting, and the service required screen is still on.
