code reader other then pcmscan

Hey guys, I was curious if anyone uses an other software other than PCMscan to read DTC's off the car.

I notice that evoscan as the "read DTC" ability but through reading other threads, I don't think it quite works yet with the evo x.

If im wrong, please someone let me know!

If anyone is using other software without issues. please post up!

(yes im cheap and don't wanna spend $75 bucks to read codes if there is an alternate, effective method. Because I don't need all the other features of PCMscan)

Thanks for stopping in.

I know it's not software, but I like the Autel CAN code reader from Amazon for $30. It's nice having an independent code reader that doesn't require a laptop imo. Evoscan should be able to read codes soon from what I hear.

yep evoscan will have it "soon". not really sure when. as for the reader, i have an alternative one (obdII scanner) but it's the same price with PCMscan..i chose that because of its features and all.. there are others like around $20-50 just make sure it's CAN compatible.

+1 Not having to lug the laptop around is worth $30 to me.
