filter upgrade

filter upgrade

if i up grade to a cone filter will i need a tune or will i be fine ?
i have a 2010 gsr

Which intake are you looking at? Some throw off your AFRs more than others.

Some were designed to run without a tune... it completely depends.

why do you want a cone?

best filter is probably a drop in - like a cosworth...

I only want a cone cause of the bov sound ,but if i need a tune most likely ill be going with a drop in.Will i see more power through a drop in or cone without getting a tune?

You're going to see the same gains between the two. Very subtle differences imo.

Depends, some of the intakes were designed to run the car leaner in the first place (were made before the ability to tune the car) (ETS). And if you have a tune, you'd definitely need a re-tune for an intake like that.

If you throw a drop-in on a factory tune, you're good man. If you've been tuned before, and it's a full intake, definitely get re-tuned. If it's just a drop-in or cone filter, you're fine.

Reconnect any hoses or wiring harness connectors and brackets you have disconnected. Re-install the battery tray and washer tank, being sure to reconnect the harness at the washer pump before you have lowered the tray completely and to reconnect the harness up by the check connector and the fluid tube.
