Innovate LM-2 basic log to Evoscan, help
Hey guys,
A friend and I chipped in and got an LM-2 basic, which I now sort of regret. I originally wanted to get an LC-1, but decided the LM-2 could move from car to car so we could tune multiple cars without a dedicated wideband.
The LM-2 works well, but I want it to log in Evoscan, and need to know if any of you have been able to do it with this device?
I would assume we could just buy this cable: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/x...8&cat=0&page=7
and plug the serial 2.5 (headphone jack looking thing) into the back side of my Tactrix 2.0 cable.
Will this work?
Thanks in advance.

When you say you can see it on your screen, do you mean your computer screen?
Have you tried the Innovative setting in EvoScan?
Are you able to log separately with Innovative's software?

if its the same as the LC1 then it will have a serial bus
the serial bus consists of a serial IN and serial OUT
you plug a terminator into the serial IN (or maybe OUT) then plug a serial cable into the other one
its like a headphone jack that turns into a DB9 connector.
one you get the DB9 connector then you plug that into your computer (or if your computer doesn't have a DB9 serial, get a USB->Serial convertor)
then you can use EvoScan and the Innovate Wideband stuff to log from it..
thats the theory anyways, It should work for LM2 - check ebay for the serial cable:
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/x...9&cat=0&page=1
Ring innovate and see if this part will work with the LM2
LM2 says its supports MTS so it should, and you can get this part:

So it hsould work, but you want the one with the DB9 connector

Just for the record, I wound up finding that standalone logging was tons more useful than being able to plug it into the computer... but it depends on your tuning style and the state of your tune. If you are actively tuning in the car you probably want to use a full db9 and see it in evoscan. If you just go back and clean things up or log on the track then standalone is FTW!
Here is more info on the cable differences (the whole thread pertains to standalone): https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/8671130-post86.html
Serial is only 2 pins. Same data, different connector.

*Note: The LM-2 "Basic" Kit out of the box only includes accessories to display your Air/Fuel Ratio either on the meter and/or on your PC. To log RPM, or to Output the wideband signal to an external device you'll need the LM-2 Analog IN/OUT Cable (P/N: 3811) optional accessory.
