Too much knock?

Just did some logging on my stock MR with Cobb AP stage 1 map.

I am not seeing any knock above three in, but frequency/duration seems too high. I am noob though so I am looking for input.

Also, boost seems low. I hit 24 the other day. Today I would be lucky to break 20. Possible boost leak?

Any concerns?

Ignore my boost question. Im pretty sure my logs are at too high RPM to hit the peak.

im not sure on the MR, but for my GSR i did a nice lil pull from 2-3k up to redline and shifting into 4th for a log, and i got 26psi on Cobb stage 1 map (Perrin w/ panel filter)

I can hit 24 psi in 3rd but only 20 in 4th. Not sure if anyone has explanation on that? Cobb recommended removing the boost pill. But if im hitting my target in 3rd gear but not 4th, will removing the pill cause overboosting in 3rd?

Cobb has told me that knocksum of 3 is nothing to worry about. Saying that stock map has knock up to 15! I find that a little hard to believe.

For boost control you have a low gear and a high gear map. You also have a rpm/mph switch point. Thats where you set for the boost control to change from low gear settings to high gear settings. I know nothing about tuning MRs and nothing about the AP but tuning my gsr i have switch over point at 4th gear. I also have the the boost lower for 4&5 gears because acceleration is slower in 4th and 5th gear compared to 1/2/3 gears so if you are shoveling in lots of boost, your going to kill your rods.

If this doesnt make sense, i am sorry. Extremely tired at work right now.

2011 GSR with the stage1 map from cobb. I've had a knocksum of 3 and they said it was no big deal. It still drives the way I remember, so I didn't think any more about it.

If you are running 93 oct, then 3 counts is alright. All knock is bad, but depending on the tank of 93 you got, the gas can be very unstable at high boost. As long as you dont have consistent knock (knocking at the same place in the rpm range) then it should be fine. You could lower your boost to try to get rid of the knock and/or mild out your mivec if they are set aggressively.

Most important thing to look at is if it is consistent knock. Make sure it is not knocking at the same rpm/load. If it is, maybe try running there lower WGDC map.

I am running 93 sunoco. Its not truly consistent. I see value of 3 in 6700-7000 range one out of every 3 runs. boost is around 17 psi at that time.

Removing the boost pill per Cobb's direction, fixed my low boost issue. Both 3rh and 4th gears hold boost better. I dont exceed my targets and it tappers off nicely.

Another thing to consider if boost was down is it's August...it's hot and won't boost as high. For reference in the Texas heat right now I'm down 3psi when it's 110 outside vs when it's 75 outside.

Good point, but I am in Ohio and my runs were in the evening with temps in the upper 70's.
