Split second power loss...CEL is now on. Ideas??

I was accelerating in 3rd gear (90% throttle) and for a split second there was a power loss of some sort and the car bucked a little bit, almost like flooring it and taking your foot off the gas and immediately flooring it again. When it happened the CEL came on and is still on.

Any ideas? My only guess is its some sort of glitch in the tune or something.

Step one: scan the CEL code and report back

Well, it happened one other time a few months ago and the CEL flashed but turned off and ended up throwing an overboost code. I thought it was just a fluke. I have a feeling its a different code this time because it stayed on. I havent had a chance to have it read yet.

you should always check gaps. i have had stock plugs come with different gap sizes. not saying that is the issue, just a suggestion.

What does the CEL say? Do you know the code? You can identify the code by doing a little google search.

Check the CEL. If it felt like hitting a brick wall then it was overboost and you went over your boost cut/boost limit tables. If it broke up briefly (usually you will hear a few pops) it might have been a misfire, possibly from being too rich. It is getting colder, so it is not uncommon to have a little higher boost pushing you closer to the boost limit ceiling.

Overboost. Possibly a bad/dirty MAF

I'll clean the maf with maf cleaner. I'm going to have my tune looked at. The only difference is really the cooler weather so maybe that'd why it over boosted. When I fond out the code I will let you guys know. Tue higher flow exhaust probably isn't helping anything either.

Well if your load exceeds what was specified in the Boost Limits tables for 1000 ms it will cut fuel like that and throw a code. If the boost is climbing higher than expected I would get it reduced and possibly adjust the Boost Limits tables to be slightly lesss sensitive if boost is reasonable.

I have also had spark blowout due to being too wide of a gap once I upgraded my turbo, adjusting it down to a .022" gap usually takes care of that issue.
