The cobb ap isnt really adding horsepower as opposed to unlocking it (via afr mapping). 600$ for a device that can translate everything your car has to tell you is a damn cheap price, imho. I plan to pick one up soon. only to compliment my injen when i get it too. Plus the cobb acts a gauge. Invaluable considering how much money some gauges cost, and what you can prevent, ie knock or lean circumstances.
If I remember correctly stock+tune was about %20% HP gain and 10% torque gain.
I haven't looked it up in awhile. Best $600 I've spent. Extremely happy with it as the tune provides much more pull at highway speeds for merging and passing.
I've noticed only a small drop in fuel economy.
The biggest problem is on hot days 80 deg F or higher I've noticed the stock radiator begins to heat soak (may not be technical term) and you loose some of the gains from the tune.
Its a good alternative to tuning since you can always flash back to stock tune and resell the AP when you're ready for a real tune so you don't have to keep paying to retune when you get new parts. But for best power a real ecu tune is the best but an AP will help keep your car safe from running too lean/rich when you keep adding parts
No matter if you decide on a accessport or going open source using a laptop and tactrix cable you will need to get a pro tune or Etune through email. Open source is cheaper but accessport is easier to use and had been reduced to 400 to 450 new and used they will be from 350 range and up.

I've had my AP for a week now and I'm extremely happy with it! Definitely lots of power gains and torque. Most of the bad things you hear on these forums about the AP are from people who don't listen to what cobb says about what you can and cant use with the Ap. Just follow the instructions word by word and you will be extremely happy! Also beingf able to log, retune, and use the live features is pretty cool
Was so close to buying one this week!!! Stupid bills.
All I have on my 2011 gsr is a drop in K&N filter. I really wanted to get the K&N intake, but apparently cobb doesn't make a map specifically for that. Looking at the SF intake that cobb makes, the gains are pretty comparable to the K&N and it's much cheaper. Eventually, I'll get the cobb SS quad-tip exhaust to move up to stage 2.
