So I bought a evo 9 on friday and it came with some bolt on mods and what not and was tune at a shop, the car also came with a cobb ap.. there isnt much need for the cobb ap if i have a pro tune on the car so if i were to uninstall it.. will it delete my pro tune or put my settings back down to stock ?

Cobb ap help you to get most hp out from your bolt on mods.

Is it a AP 2 or AP1? if is a AP2 I said keep it.

You can have your tuner to install the map into the ap unit and for them is more easier to tune with AP unit.

if the pro tunes on the Cobb, and you remove the Cobb, you remove the tune.. it defaults back to whatever tune was on it before the Cobb was installed.

that said.. i much prefer open source with a tephra v7.. much much larger mapping resolution and more customization.

IF you have no laptop then keep the cobb for now.. otherwise you will have no way of reflashing the car or logging the car period.
