New ECU, Cobb AP, or ProTune?

So a mitsubishi dealer told me my ECU was unable to be reset to spec due to whatever the previous owner did. They told me I can try to get it reflashed OR buy a new ecu for $1300.. My question is will a cobb accessport do the job of reflashing my ecu? Or do I need to go to a tuner to reflash it? OR should I just buy a new ecu?

Try to find someone local with ECUFlash and a tactrix 2.0 cable. Then contact someone on these forums (best bet being Tephra) for a stock ROM for your year/model etc. OR, buy the tactrix cable yourself, download ECUFlash and do it yourself. I cannot comment on the COBB part of your question though. I saw your other post and the car can be started. The ECU is not bricked and does not need to be benched.
