tuning
Hey guys, new to the evo world. Came from a 2009 Honda Civic Si Coupe. Tuned the civ myself with flashpro.
218whp and 179trq
14sec in 1/4mile at 97mph
No noob to tuning, but never tuned a boosted car before. Guess you can say i'm a noob reborn or something. Just looking for some information. What would be the best choice for tuning a stock evo x? I've looked at the threads for both evoflash and cobb. Both have pros and cons, but can't make sense out of the most of it. cobb i guess be stage 1 ots. But read allot of issues regarding idle, and holding boost. evotune, seems you got to buy multiple things to even make it work, 2 programs, cables adapters can't make sense of any of it.
Can someone help me out, break it down in simplar terms? lol.

the cobb ap seems more user friendly. Ease of access, plus its a screen that can show gauges etc, can mount it in car. But the ots tune at stage 1 worries me with some of the issues ppl have.
I think you are over thinking it. If you have a boost gauge and wideband already you use evoscan to log data and ecuflash to make changes to the map. The openport 2.0 should be the only cable you need. Do you have a 3 port boost control solenoid like grimspeed?
If you are going to be learning and tuning your self the Cobb is great investment. Theres a lot more completed ots map on cobb.you can use and modified to suit your needs it's easier to use. Although ecuflash provides a little more choice in tuning boost like using psi boost vs load base , it might be a better option if you are a serious tuner yourself and like.to tinker all the features for example
OBD2 Inspection pass with test pipe, no lift to shift etc.

The comparison is a lot like iPhone vs Android.
The Accessport (iPhone) is more user friendly and simple to use but still gets the job done.
ECUFlash (Android) is a lot more customizable and you can tweak a lot of settings and edit definitions if you need to.
I have both and I still prefer ECU Flash.
I'm more of an Android kind of guy anyway.
