Knock gain on stock block 400whp+
Knock gain on stock block 400whp+

So I am trying to get this kind of power with a 18 level knock multiplier. Last time I tried (@18) it detected knock and pulled timing resulting in 400hp to the wheels peak. The above graph is with a 20 knock multiplier, so it was dumb and happy and no timing was pulled by the ECU. The next pull (not done yet) I removed one degree timing up top and added a smidge of fuel (left gain @18). I am not 100% sure that it is real knock, but rather just noise from power. I will keep working at it. The mods are below in signature.
So for the technical tuner guys... I noticed that cobb ots stage 4 has a 20 knock multiplier. Stock OEM is 16. With 18 it pulled timing around 7200rpm with a FIVE knock count. Next attempt is going to be 18 with one degree timing pulled up front and a tad more fuel (as mentioned).. Any thoughts ? Is 20 gain acceptable for a stock block at this power level ? Or is that making the knock system too deaf?
I should clarify I am talking about the "Knock Background Noise Multiplier" table.
For 7000 to 8000 I am trying to use value 18. I would sure like to make 432hp like I did with a 20 value in there, instead of 400hp.
I am unsure if this is necessary. I should also add that this is with 93 octane fuel. Stock was around 220hp to the wheels in VD !!!

I had some PM's with razorlab and I was getting waaayyy too aggressive with my top end timing. I was trying to run 13-14 deg up top and around 7k rpm at around 27psi, and it was declaring some wicked knock suddenly (5 count). I have since dropped my timing to 11deg at that load cell (260 load) and RESTORED the knock multiplier to OEM specs. This should make the engine happy and not have it be knock deaf. It is very odd that Cobb turned up the multiplier on their stage 4 OTS map for their 18k kit. Seems in discussions; that just ain't right!
