That's the plan.

We started smelling clutch tonight so it might be on the way out. If that's the case and we have to pull the tranny we'll probably take it apart. Keith is anxious to start working on trans internals for the X.

Is the tip on the exhaust obnoxiously large? Haha, I think I'd only get the single exhaust if I could find a body kit with a single exit. Any plans on a dual catless exhaust?

We used a 4" tip which exits straight out the back. We mocked it up with a 3.5" but it looked a little too small. We're working out the details for a dual system and should have one finished next week. It's strange to see an EVO with anything but a single tip IMO.

It just never made sense to me to have a dual exhaust on a single turbo car. I'm big on show, but it shouldnt be hard to find a kit with a single exit. I'm really glad you guys are only an hour away, I'll definitely be calling you/stopping in!

Still the big question is what EXACT boost was it. It obviously was higher that 23psi because the powerband falls very fast and the torque goes down very quickly. You said you played with higher octanes I assume this was one of the graphs with higher octane with 25-26psi.

i dont think they should be testing octanes higher then 91 or 93. considering 80% of the board daily drives their cars and only has basic bolt on power and doesnt run meth/race gas.

Yeah, I would hope these numbers are on 93 at the most. I dont have access to 100 octane everyday, haha.

Well this is what they said which makes me believe this 47whp gains were from that. That power does not just show up on its own. Most the shops are saying the X is knock prone with added mods in the spool up area so higher octane gas would really help. This is atleast how I would interpret it.

Even if this is true, I'm sure it would balance out with upgraded fuel management on pump 91-93 octane

One guy got 400+whp on stock turbo and bolt ons at 25psi on pump gas on their dyno.
Not to clutter this thread, but what is so weird about this? The video that DynoFlash just posted shows an 05 that I tuned making 397whp @ 22psi on pumpgas with a 9 turbo.... I tuned another one that made 395 on pumpgas with a 9 turbo @ 22psi as well last week.. Buschur just made 620whp on pumpgas with a 35r too... So were is the issue??

Good Job guys... That x is starting to shape up nicely!

We kept turning the boost up till it spiked 28-29 but would still fall off below 20. After that was set we mixed 2 gallons of C-with the 93 that was in the tank. The car made more power for longer but the tune is still the biggest issue. I'm sure a bigger turbo and FMIC will be on the car soon

I assume you're not serious. We plan on testing everything possible with the X well beyond what our customers would ever do with it. The white car is going to be "tortue tested" for a while. I'd like to know the limits of the motor, fuel system, turbo, ecu, driveline.... These cars are going to be around for a while and I doubt many will remain stock.

Um, if I buy an Evo, I will end up tracking it and I damn well will be running 98+ octane fuel at the track. I want to know how the car will perform there. I care far less about how much power it will make on the street.

Yup. But some drivers would also like to know what they can achieve on the dyno and as their daily driver. I'm sure we can all understand that
