I'm wondering something... Will this EVO X turbo fit a IX? I might put it on my IX and max that bish out to see what power it will give me and what it will do compared to a IX turbo. I'll see if it likes to be pushed near 30 PSI like a green... Hmmmmmmmmmm..............

And Jarrod, I agree exactly with what you said!

Different strokes for different folks. I can definitely agree that the 8 and 9 has a more racey feel, and that the refinement of the X dulls that a bit. But, I say that if the car shows that it can fly around the track and down the strip with the best of 'em, and at the same time has less noise and more technology/creature comforts, then it's all the better. The 6/8/9 will always have a special place in the hearts of evo enthusiasts, there's no doubt about it, but the car did have to evolve. So far, in spite of the refinement, it's really proving to be a Dr. Jekyll hiding in Mr. Hide. But, as I mentioned earlier, different strokes for different folks. That's the beauty of choice.

I like the Evo 8 and 9 better personally. The X is a great car but it feels more "up scale" to me. I like the "race ready" feel of the 8 and 9. I think of the X as a "classier" car like a BMW or something. Its a VERY nice car but it has alot of creature comforts. Im a pretty basic kind of dude and dont need all that jazz. A/C, power windows & locks, keyless entry and im all set. lol

For the most part I like the styling of the X. I just dont care for the rear look. I know its done for performance but its just ugly IMO. I like the front and its aggressive look. I still give the car an overall 9.5 or 10 but its in a different class I personally think than the 8 and 9.
A man after my own heart!

IMO:
Evo 8/9 = oversized go-kart
Evo X = street car

I do have to admit that I love the SRT-4-like sound of your Evo X muffler, though. Absolutely tit$.

It takes a TBE, TUNE, and race gas to make the 9 run 11s. Can the 10 do that?

I really don't think the AYC/ACD is going to do much for very good drivers. It should help the weaklings and middle of the road group but I don't expect it to set records.

Thanks for the compliments on the car and our shop Will, nice to have you around too.

We have NOT reached the limits of pump gas with the car. You have to keep in mind that we (and others) have not gone very far with the car yet. We have gained 102 whp at 7,000 rpm with a catback, offroad pipe, filter kit, mbc and upper i/c pipe, hardly any mods at all. Once the car it tuned, it is going to gain more power.

It really seems that this engine is going to like RPM even more so than the 4g63 and that is saying a lot. It does have a shorter stroke and larger bore. Both of these explain the additional ignition timing the car appears to be running.

i think its a little too much hype around the X, without track numbers.
I do like the new X and i think it is better then the IX. But as some say, the old ones worth to laugh at it, is little too much...
or the stock with basic bolt ons will be only a sec slower than the full race VIII...
I dont know., but i'm sure i will experienced that humbling feeling from the stock X on track this year.Since mine is not even considered a full race IX.

LOL it's not like they are trying to pull a fast one...they are publishing dyno results with real gains...and as soon as the snow melts around the shops that are tuning the X, I'm sure they'll have some track numbers...

I think you are missing the point of AYC....it doesn't help you in the straights, but it helps you turn.

BR is snowed in...and of any shop, they would be the last ones to shy away from a drag strip...anyone who knows anything knows that. i'm sure you can guess the other main shop in the same situation. the others i wouldn't consider any sort of authority at this early point in the game, although admittedly i have not really been following much else. not to fault the others, as i'm sure they will find their niche in short order...but lets just say we are all anxious to see track numbers without the explicit or implied slander and leave it at that...especially here on a thread about a build by a well-established and respected tuner...

I wasn't talking about BR, TT or AMS. We know they have snow. I was mentioning the west coast owners (shop or private owner). I lived there for a little over 5 years and they have tracks (even 1/8 mile) that run pretty much all year, but I'll digress..
