The 4cyl turbo engine in the Genesis coupe is not exactly the 4B11T from the Evo X. Just as the SRT-4 engine is related to the Evo 4B11T, they all come from the World Engine program. Each manufacturer creates unique head, intake and exhaust setups.

I'm betting there will be a fair number of people that put the Evo heads on the Genesis block. Hell, there will probably be a wide variety of hybrid engine combinations on the 3 platforms.

There's a lot more room back there that the pics show. No problem at all bolting on a larger turbo.

Back on topic, I ordered a BR inline boost controller today from Nick because my man J-rod was being a good little sales manager and helping another customer.

I also have an air filter coming from somewhere else.

I'm hitting the dyno this weekend to see what kinds of gains I can get. When the BR exhaust is ready, I'll go back and do it again!

Thanks Noize, I appreciate the order. The filter is pretty straight forward. Make sure you make some type of mount to hold it up though, on the EVO X when you do a normal cone filter it really has no way to hold it at all, so it really flops around a lot. We did a nice SS mount that holds it very tight and are now working on another piece for the kit.

UPDATE on the Project X.

We have the fascia off the car and we are working on a FMIC kit. The factory intercooler measures approximately 19x11x2.75, it is very light, seems lighter than I remember the EVO8-9 intercooler being but it might be my imagination. I want a LARGE FMIC in the car and really have no desire to make multiple kits for the car this time. We got our first core sent in for the project and are putting tanks together. It will be an improvement over stock but is not really what I wanted. I do not want to sacrifice. We located another core that, if I can get it, is going to be pretty kick butt. I will know tomorrow.

The problem is I feel this car is going to attract a "different buyer" than the 8-9 did and I want to keep the parts more "upscale". No cutting and such. The A/C is in the way and so is the bumper support for our Race FMIC kit we use on the 8-9's. I think that I found something that is going to work really well though and won't require cutting.

I also only want to offer one i/c pipe kit for the car that will work with the stock and our aftermarket FMIC's. I am putting a lot of time/effort/engineering into this to make it all happen.

I'm like a little kid waiting on the UPS truck to get parts for the build!

I just ordered a drop in panel filter, so the stock airbox will still be in play.

I might call and bug you guys about the BR boost controller installation. I've done a ton of them on Evo VIII and IX, but this turbo in the back stuff is nuts!

Great new, I had a evo8 and 9 and I did like your parts but sometimes the fit and finish made me pass. I am waiting for a X MR and if your parts have better fit and finish I will get them for my car. I don't want to have to chop on a 40k+ car.

Hit the nail right on the head

I am glad to see you keeping the asthetics of your cat back close to stock form. And the fmic will be a key element too. Seems like just freeing up the intake and exhaust while adding boost controller goes a long way in this car. I can't wait for the software to be available for the tuners. That will unlock the monster inside this 4B11

If all goes like it is suppose to we will have the FMIC for the car tomorrow. We had a core shipped 2nd day air and I think will be the best we can fit in the car.

Also got in a connecting rod today and our cylinder head core. We will start out flow bench work on the cylinder head shortly. The head is horrible. The intake side appears to be an engineering improvement but the exhaust is not looking good at all. We have to build a fixture to get the head on the flow bench. It will be worked on over the next few weeks. The good thing is I see HUGE improvements be able to be made in the head.

Besides the exhaust side, what other improvements do you see?
